Repeat Impressions -  2 hours – Friday, May 16, 2008                        “Washington Room - A”     9am-11am

Wendy Wyman

Class:  “Keepsake Explosion Box”

Cost:  $37.00

Learn how to transform a  few sheets of cardstock into a special keepsake album in a box.  The “explosion” happens when you remove the lid of the box.  The sides of the box collapse outward exposing layers of mini album pages.  Stamp, embellish and add your own photos to create your one-of-a-kind keepsake box.  You will have space for 20 photos and/or journaling.  Once you learn the trick to making these  fun boxes you will want to be  creating them for all kinds of occasions!  Students to bring:  pencil, metal ruler, cutting knife and mat, scoring tool, photo safe adhesive and copies of any photos you may want to incorporate into your box.  View this class at:  http://www.repeatimpressions.com/cnvntnws.html

Handstamped cards are wonderful, but stamped cards that DO things are even better!  Learn how to create four different interactive cards featuring Inky Antics stamps: a super-easy swing card, an adorable pop-up card, a hidden message card, and a delightful double slider card (with optional  money pocket to hold currency)  If you enjoyed last years Movers & Shakers class, you’ll love our brand new lineup of action cards.  Your class kit will include full-color instructions so you can make these great projects again on your own…we know you’ll want to!  Students to bring:  colored pencils (regular, not watercolor) and adhesive (such as double sided tape).

 

Altered Arts Mag. – 2 hours – Friday, May 16, 2008                    “Washington Room – A”                      11:30am-1:30pm

In this class you will create a book using Fredrix Sew Paintable canvas, redline tape and canvas boards that will hold 12 ATC’s.  Your class kit will incude: 2 canvas boards (for the covers), redline tape and Sew Paintable sheets to create book pages and ATC’s.  You will be provided with a selection of fibers, collage sheets and transparencies for your use.  You might choose to create a book and ATC’s with the angel theme (pictured) or different themes depending on collage images available.  You may also bring small embellishments to dress-up your own ATC’s.  Students should bring:  scissors, glue stick, any favorite rubber stamps, cord backed metal ruler, cutting mat, e-acto knife and any ink pad colors you might want to use.  View this class at:   ATC Book Class Project Photo

Class:  “Piano Hinge Book”

Cost:  $32.00

This book combines and simplifies the construction of an accordion fold binding and piano hinge book.  While this book has a complex binding, it will be easy to make using our custom template system.  This project also will teach you to use a book cradle for basic book construction and how to sew with waxed linen thread to bind your signatures.  We will finish off our project by creating a collage for the cover.  This class will teach basic book design and construction including how to smoothly cover the book front and back, apply end papers and book binding.  Several paper choices and cover themes will be available for selection.  Students to Bring:  scissors, craft/exacto knife, bone folder, scoring tool, ruler, glue stick, book awl.  View this class at:  www.mrsolearysart.com  , PianoHingeBonnieAnnie.jpg

We have so many different ways to apply color to our projects.  In this class we will work with Prisma colored pencils.  Our goal is to show you several ways to get your desired results, using blending pencils, color layering and gamasol.  You will be amazed at how colored pencils can enhance your projects.  We will be using StacyStamps flowers including the newest zinnia.  Students to bring:  scissors, adhesive of choice.  View this class at:  www.stacystamps.com

Ted Cutts

Class:  “Terrific Techniques Tag Book”

Cost:  $37.00

Come and enjoy the one man show with Ted as he creates with you a tag book of terrific techniques and tips using the Ranger/Tim Holtz products like crackle paint, grunge board, distress pads and the tools from Tonic.  You will also be using the newest images Tim has come out with for Stampers Anonymous. Not only will Ted create with you, he will also make you laugh and have a great time!  Students to Bring:  basic tool kit.

Cost:  $32.00

A stack of attic stained tags will be decorated and filled with stamps, die cuts, charms, trims, art prints and assorted ephemera.  Make a faux vintage ruler to act as a binding clip.  Additional tags can be added to make your own mini memory book or set out on a vintage suitcase to create a vignette in our own décor.  This book will teach layering and how to tweak some simple trims to give you projects that add interest.  Students to Bring:  scissors, craft/exacto knife (or personal paper trimmer), glue stick, brown & black stamp pads, 1/8th inch hole punch, eyelet setter if you have one.  View this class at:  www.mrsolearysART.com  tagtravelexample1.jpg, tagtravelexample2.jpg

Class:  “Making Friends Happy with Coluzzle Cards”

…..and the Coluzzle template is included for you in this class!  We will be making two cards using the spinner Coluzzle and one card using the stair step Coluzzle.  Have a good time creating these cards then see the happy, surprised faces when friends and family receive them!  We also will be using Art Gone Wild! stamps for this project.  Students to Bring:  Basic tool kit
